Job Overview

The Senior Director of Data Governance Leader in Azure Cloud will spearhead the development and implementation of data governance policies, ensuring the quality, security, and compliance of our Azure Cloud data environment. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this role will align the data governance strategy with the organization's overall goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust data governance framework, policies, and standards tailored for the Azure cloud environment.
  • Oversee the data governance program, focusing on data quality, classification, metadata management, and data privacy and security.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT, and other stakeholders to establish and propagate data governance best practices aligned with business goals.
  • Define and implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of data governance tools and technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support on data governance-related matters to cross-functional teams.
  • Offer schema-specific guidelines needed for ETL from various data domain teams.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to data governance and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and deliver data governance training programs to ensure employees understand their roles in maintaining data quality and compliance.
  • Accountable for the overall vision and function of Enterprise Data Catalog, data lineage, and metadata.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies and services.
  • 3+ years of experience with data cataloging tools such as Purview, Alation, or Collibra.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data governance and cloud technologies.
  • Proven ability to influence different levels within the organization to achieve results.
  • Ability to identify and partner with strategic solution and service providers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Visionary leadership for developing and maintaining a multi-year capability roadmap for data catalog and other data governance applications.

Pay Range

$181,000 - $210,000
