About the Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will be a key player within our engineering team, specializing in supporting and developing our product's architecture. You’ll transform abstract ideas into concrete designs, influencing implementation and ensuring robust and scalable systems using appropriate software engineering patterns.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer at Target, you will:

• Use your technology expertise to stay updated with current and emerging technologies in your specialized domain.
• Evaluate new technologies, considering factors like maintainability, cost of ownership, and compatibility with Target’s tech environment.
• Lead research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies.
• Manage the full lifecycle, financials, and forecasting of products.
• Oversee design reviews, code reviews, testing, and debugging at the application level.
• Conduct functional design and architecture discussions, understanding process flows and system diagrams.
• Participate in construction, automation, and implementation activities to ensure they meet architectural and operational requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tackle complex technical issues.
• Lead and contribute to disaster recovery planning and activities.
• Embed data quality protocols in data acquisition, processing, storage, and operational use.

Key Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

• At least 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, focusing on computer vision and natural language processing.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, including CNNs, RNNs, and transformers for image and text processing tasks.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Experience with image processing libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV) and text processing techniques (e.g., tokenization, word embeddings).
• Experience with multimodal generative AI systems is highly desirable.

Your Impact
