Job Description

Step into the role of Sr. Manager, Wealth Data Management & Governance within our Wealth Data & Analytics team at BMO. You will be instrumental in shaping the data and analytics strategies for our rapidly growing Wealth Management sector. This includes diverse lines such as Digital Investing, Private Wealth in Canada and the US, Asset Management, and Insurance.

In this critical role, you'll collaborate closely with the Data Management Lead and business data owners. Your goal will be to refine our Wealth Management Data Governance Program aligning with the bank's comprehensive data principles to enhance data quality and minimize data-related risks.

Your efforts will foster a culture where data is recognized as a pivotal corporate asset. Success in this role comes from your ability to broker strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, managing metadata, and overseeing data flows that support significant decision-making, regulatory reporting, and everyday operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor in developing data governance strategies and best practices for Wealth Management.
  • Provide expert insights into data regulations and best practices by networking across the industry.
  • Lead initiatives to monitor and refine the effectiveness of data management and governance programs.
  • Support the development of an integrated data inventory and strategic data roadmap to craft datasets that drive analytics, business intelligence, and key business decisions.
  • Develop, implement, and support data management tools and processes ensuring widespread awareness and integration across teams.

Qualifications

Prospective candidates should have a post-secondary degree in a related field and between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Informatica, BI tools like Power BI, and analytical environments such as R, MATLAB, or SAS is highly advantageous. Experience with SQL, Python, Java, or C/C++ is also valuable. In-depth communication skills and a proven ability to drive data-driven decisions are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $92,400.00 - $171,600.00 (Salaried Position)
