Role: Senior Software Engineer (Hive, Spark, Hadoop, Java)

We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Visa Secure development team. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives on solving complex business challenges and creating unparalleled user experiences. You will work on designing new software solutions and refactoring existing ones to enhance performance and maintainability, always aiming to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on software engineering activities, including POCs, design, documentation, development, and testing of new functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to design, build, and maintain software solutions that leverage data for fraud prevention and risk mitigation.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Adapt to shifting tasks based on team needs and business requirements.

This hybrid role allows flexibility with a primary guidepost of being in the office 50% or more, based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an advanced degree.
• Strong expertise with Hive, Spark, Hadoop, Java, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in implementing design patterns and experience with Spring, Hibernate, and RDBMS technologies like PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Knowledge of web service standards and related patterns (REST, JSON).
• Experience in Agile development, including TDD, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery using tools like GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, and Mock frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Skilled in collaborating in fast-paced, Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
