We're excited to offer an opportunity for a talented Sr Specialist Solutions Engineer (Sr SSE) - Data Engineering at Databricks. In this role, you'll have the chance to guide our customers as they build sophisticated big data solutions utilizing the Databricks platform, covering a diverse range of use cases.

As a pivotal customer-facing team member, you'll work closely with Solution Architects and provide technical guidance during the entire implementation process. Your expertise in Apache Spark™ and deep knowledge of other data technologies will be essential as you help design and implement critical workloads and strategic plans for scaling technology applications.

What You Will Do

• Lead the technical strategy for high-profile customer projects, ensuring successful big data solution implementations from architectural design to data engineering and model deployment.
• Design and optimize production-level data pipelines and manage end-to-end pipeline performance testing.
• Develop specialized knowledge in areas such as data lake technology, big data streaming, or data ingestion workflows to become a technical expert.
• Support Solution Architects with complex technical sales aspects, including custom proof of concepts, workload sizing, and architecture designs.
• Enhance community engagement through tutorials, training sessions, hackathons, and conference presentations.

What We Look For

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in technical roles with expertise in software engineering/data engineering, notably in data ingestion, streaming technologies like Spark Streaming and Kafka, and big data solutions.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining big data pipelines and adapting data systems to meet complex requirements.
• Deep specialty expertise in high-performance data processing systems, real-time stream processing systems, or large-scale data integration technologies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Scala, or Java.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with major Big Data technologies and architectures, with an additional 2 years in a customer-facing role, ideally in pre-sales or post-sales.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, although being located within the job listing area with the ability to travel up to 30% is preferred.
