About the Team

As a Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence writer at Databricks, you will work on the forefront of developing tools for AI innovation. By leveraging your writing, data, and technical prowess, you will produce compelling content that guides data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts in maximizing their data analytics, machine learning, and AI endeavors.

Your Impact

  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to create engaging, customer-focused documentation.
  • Partner with customer-facing staff (support engineers, solutions architects, developer relations) to develop best practices, onboarding materials, and scenario-based guidance.
  • Implement an information-architecture approach to organize content based on customer use cases.
  • Continuously improve our authoring and production tools and processes.
  • Edit content from engineering and field contributions for technical accuracy, grammar, style adherence, and alignment with information architecture.
  • Manage articles through technical review, content editing, and publication.
  • Create videos and diagrams that help customers quickly understand data science concepts and workflows.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in documenting advanced technologies for developers and IT professionals, or equivalent experience as a software developer, product manager, or solutions architect.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and professional communication skills.
  • Expertise in technical writing tools and style, including a consistent voice, clear writing style, and understanding of grammar and usage rules.
  • Experience with data products and cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of information architecture concepts and their application to dynamic websites.
  • Proven project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Markdown, Git, and GitHub.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using data and customer feedback for decision-making.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating instructional videos and visual media, such as animated GIFs and diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning techniques, such as model training and data preparation.
  • Working knowledge of Python in data science.

Pay Range Transparency

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are determined based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant certifications, training, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for an annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
