Role Responsibilities

As an SRE/Operations Engineer at Hitachi Digital Services, you will:

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of globally distributed API platforms.
  • Perform software upgrades and apply necessary patches to application microservices.
  • Triage and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain service availability.
  • Work closely with Security and DevOps teams to secure the platform.
  • Define operational requirements to enhance service observability and supportability.
  • Drive automation with R&D teams for production processes.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure services (AKS, NSG, Storage, etc).
  • Strong practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and FluxCD.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform configurations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting cloud-native applications using kubectl, k9s, Lens Pro, and ELK stack metrics.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and GitOps automation.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python programming.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Jira.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Development skills in Python, Ruby, Java, Golang, or Java-based languages.
  • Certifications in public cloud technologies (Azure preferred).
  • Understanding of TCP, HTTPS, SSH, and other protocols.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies.
