Role Overview: Staff Advanced Robotics Engineer

As a Staff Advanced Robotics Engineer at Relativity Space, you will significantly contribute to the development and integration of advanced robotic software and hardware. Your role will involve implementing complex perception systems, like LiDAR and 3D Area Scanners, enhancing autonomous robotics and promoting cooperative task completion across various functions. By working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help pioneer solutions that expand the boundaries of robotics and additive manufacturing technologies.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Educational background in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in robotics software development, particularly using C++ within embedded systems.
  • Expertise in EtherCAT communication protocols and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • A solid understanding of real-time data processing algorithms and robotics kinematics.
  • Experience in integrating sensors and hardware, ensuring efficient calibration, synchronization, and data fusion.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in linear algebra, 3D transformations, and control systems.
  • Exceptional debugging skills across complex software and hardware configurations.
  • Effective communication capabilities and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial robotics standards, safety protocols, and middleware like ROS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial robotic manipulators and robot coordination.
  • Knowledge of robotic simulation tools and emerging technologies in sensor and robotics fields.
  • Advanced understanding of SLAM techniques and machine learning applications in robotics.
