Job Opportunity: Staff Data and Market Analyst

We are seeking a Staff Data and Market Analyst to join our Policy and Market Analysis team, collaborating closely with our Commercial and Production teams. Your role will involve utilizing our cloud-based data warehouse and BI tools to extract and analyze product data and market insights, contributing to significant transformations in the energy industry.

About You

We are looking for a leader who can advance our data and market analysis initiatives, drive strategic decision-making, and provide expert analytics, statistics, and modeling. Our ideal candidate meets many - but not necessarily all - of the following qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in data analysis or data science, with a relevant degree.
• Proven experience leading data analysis projects and teams.
• Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and statistical methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of BI tools and data visualization best practices.
• Advanced skills in Python for data processing.
• Ability to articulate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with energy market analytics and influencing market design through data insights.
• Organized, capable of prioritizing tasks, and setting timelines collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
• Fluent in English with a high level of technical proficiency in reporting and documentation.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with Tableau and Looker Studio.
• Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.

About the Role

In this position, you will lead Piclo's data and market analysis efforts, playing a crucial role in our mission to decarbonize the world's grids. Your responsibilities will include:

• Empowering stakeholders with data-driven insights through complex data analysis projects.
• Collaborating with commercial and production teams to present complex data insights clearly.
• Guiding departments on understanding user behaviors, product impacts, and market trends.
• Driving initiatives to optimize data quality and governance practices.
• Overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of both internal and external data.
• Creating and maintaining advanced dashboards and reports for effective communication.
• Conducting in-depth analysis of energy market landscapes and trends.
• Preparing reports and case studies to influence market design with data insights.
• Developing and implementing data collection systems to ensure data integrity and adherence to policies.
• Managing public data provisions and data analysis services.
• Mentoring colleagues and promoting data use across the organization.
