The position in question is for a Staff Engineer with strong development experience who will concentrate on developing new capabilities for AI as a Service while enhancing our code base and development processes. The ideal candidate will be a talented developer who can operate in a dynamic environment as part of Agile Scrum teams. You should possess strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, demonstrate adeptness in coding, testing, and debugging. Furthermore, you must be committed to meeting product backlog requirements and delivering production-ready code. A willingness to take on diverse responsibilities and tasks is essential.

As an integral part of the development team, you will at times explore new requirements and design, or refactor existing functionality for performance and maintainability. However, the constant should be an ongoing effort to improve our efficiency and provide superior solutions to our end customers. This role requires a self-organized individual adept in web application and web service development. The candidate will be tasked with hands-on activities including design, documentation, and development and testing of new functionalities. The candidate should be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on the team's needs.

This is a hybrid position. Employees in this role will split their time between remote work and the office and are expected to work from the office about 2-3 set days a week, with a general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD), OR over 8 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 6 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
• Experience in leading-edge domains such as Machine Learning, Big Data, Distributed Systems or SRE.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala, Golang, Java, or C++.
• Familiarity with web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
• Experience in implementing low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.

Additional Information

Work Hours: This varies depending on the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires 5-10% travel time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This job will be performed in an office setting. It will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

FOR U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated range for those entering this role is between $126,000 and $163,800 USD annually, potentially including sales incentive payments (if applicable). The actual salary may vary based on factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Along with this, the position could be eligible for a bonus and equity.
