We are actively seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to be an integral part of our supply chain automation team at Coupang. Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and enhance technology products, turning complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
• Lead the research, development, and deployment of large-scale planning optimization solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Perform rigorous research and analysis to develop innovative models and algorithms, defining success through precise metrics.
• Develop and deliver data-driven solutions for automated decision-making on a large scale using Operations Research, Machine Learning, and Statistics.
• Address complex data analysis problems with cutting-edge analytical methods, communicating insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide thorough analysis of launched solutions to measure real-world outcomes and continue improving performance.

Professional Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A PhD or MS (or equivalent industry experience) in quantitative fields such as Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical disciplines.
• Over 7 years of industry experience solving complex problems in operations research and developing strategic solutions for extensive supply chain, transportation, and fulfillment networks.
• Advanced skills in modeling, algorithm design, engineering, and practical implementation, especially optimization methods for linear, mixed-integer, and dynamic programs.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, or C#, coupled with competence in big data analytics tools like SQL and Python.
• Experience with commercial and open-source solvers and MIP solution strategies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with all organizational levels.

Preferred Additional Experience

It would be beneficial if you also have:

• Experience in designing and implementing large-scale optimization solutions such as fulfillment planning, inventory management, and network design.
• Proven ability to design solutions for ambiguous business and operational issues.
• Familiarity with the AWS technology stack, including AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, and Glue.
