As a data-driven company, we're seeking an experienced Staff Data Scientist, who will be accountable to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), to lead our exploration and evaluation of innovative models that have the potential to revolutionize our business using our data in novel ways. The Data Scientist will be mainly responsible for developing and evaluating early-stage, pioneering data science models. This is an individual contributor role. The Staff Data Scientist will translate our business ambitions into exploratory data science projects, select suitable methods, evaluate new technologies, design and test data science models, and report progress to business leaders. We anticipate this role to liaise with key leaders and executives across the company in pioneering new initiatives, collecting feedback, and guiding our company-wide Machine Learning roadmap. Our ideal candidate has proven hands-on experience implementing both classical and modern modeling and analysis methods in a business setting. Responsibilities: - Be the thought leader in clarifying and demonstrating the business opportunities that can be solved by applying advanced Data Science models to ezCater’s business. - Develop “proof-of-concept” plans to achieve business goals using ezCater data and data science models. Evaluate new technologies, identify needed data, select the best strategy, design models, and test their effectiveness. - Report interim results to senior business leaders and executives, brainstorm alternative strategies and methods to test effectiveness. Collaborate directly with business and engineering to understand challenges, guide methods, and explain results. - Collaborate with ML engineering, Chief Data Officer, Data Science Architect, and other executives on ezCater’s ML roadmap, identify opportunities to prioritize and integrate the models and learnings from your work. Qualifications: - A track record of using data science models, data, and new technologies to transition ideas from business concepts to proven data science models with demonstrable value. - 6-8+ years of experience in a quantitative or technical work environment - Experience in designing and applying machine learning models and statistical analyses in a business setting - High comfort level with Python - Proven track record of collaborating with engineers, data scientists and business leaders in explaining methodologies and reviewing applications for performance, accuracy, and quality. - A friendly, flexible and pragmatic disposition, and the desire to learn something new every day and continue to grow. The national cash compensation range for this role is $185,000 - $227,000*. Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, and region and may vary from the amount above.
