Your Role and Impact

As a Staff Data Scientist at Bitso, you will lead the charge in transforming complex data into machine learning (ML) products that elevate user experiences. You will navigate through the entire project lifecycle—identifying needs, crafting models, and deploying solutions that refine our customer interactions. Your expertise in Econometrics, Probability, Statistics, and Machine Learning will enable you to tackle varied challenges, from risk management to revenue forecasting and beyond.

Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring emerging talent within our team, promoting best practices, and cultivating a culture of excellence and strategic insight. Collaborating across departments, you will enhance Bitso’s product offerings and ensure that our data science initiatives deliver tangible value.

Who We Are Looking For

You should have:

• An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Machine Learning.
• At least 3 years of industry experience, highlighted by successful machine learning projects.
• Robust analytical skills, with proficiencies in SQL, R or Python, and big data tools like Spark or Koalas.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

It's a bonus if you have:

• Experience with quantitative finance, MLOps, or GenAi modeling flows.
• Familiarity with Databricks and advanced ML techniques.

• Identify and lead new machine learning projects that have a significant impact on our operations.
• Analyze extensive datasets to uncover new opportunities and refine existing strategies.
• Develop and implement end-to-end machine learning solutions that are robust and scalable.
