Role: Staff Software Engineer, AI Validation Platform

As a leading member of our AI Foundations team, you will play a pivotal role in scaling and enhancing the efficiency of our autonomous vehicle software development and validation processes. With a firm focus on GPU utilization, system scalability, and reliability, your contributions will be crucial to our success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

  • Lead development efforts to optimize core platform components and services.
  • Enhance system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Proactively drive improvements across multiple product areas.

  • Promote Cruise engineering achievements in the wider tech community.

What You Need to Thrive

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in software development.
  • Deep expertise in building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, or similar programming languages.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms like GCP or Azure.
  • Excellent collaboration and leadership capabilities.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with Kubernetes at scale, high-performance computing (HPC), and event-driven systems.
  • Familiarity with messaging platforms, queueing, and scheduling algorithms.
  • History of leading significant cross-functional projects.
