About Our Team

Our Data Infrastructure team is at the heart of StarTree's SaaS offerings, developing state-of-the-art data ingestion, processing, and serving systems. This team is pivotal in leveraging real-time data to accelerate decision-making, ultimately scaling and refining StarTree's Pinot Engine and associated data platforms.

The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Data Infrastructure, you will:

• Enhance the Apache Pinot open-source software.
• Work on the internals of real-time databases/data systems.
• Optimize query engines, focusing on compilation and execution.
• Improve data ingestion, storage, modeling, and indexing services.
• Develop scalable, low-latency, distributed systems.
• Create automated and abstracted self-service tools.

What We’re Looking for

Ideal candidates will have:

• Over 5 years of experience in related fields.
• Expertise in Java, C++, or Scala programming languages.
• Strong experience in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes.
• A solid understanding of stream/batch processing and database internals.
• Proven ability to work on large-scale distributed systems.
• Knowledge of multi-threading and concurrency principles.
• A track record of open-source contributions (a significant plus).
