Position Overview: Manager of Strategic Planning

As the Manager of Strategic Planning, you will be at the helm of shaping our Customer Success organization's long-term strategy. Your responsibilities will include independently driving strategic points of view on critical topics and leading the design of strategic initiatives. Your role will involve synthesizing data-driven insights, conducting internal and external research, and collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure success in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct and interpret large datasets to extract meaningful insights for the Customer Success Group (CSG).
  • Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
  • Data Preprocessing: Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure quality, completeness, and usability, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Feature Engineering: Identify and create relevant data features to enhance model performance and accuracy.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership, effectively communicating trends and patterns through visualization and narratives.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions, integrating data science solutions with existing systems.
  • Shape and Manage Strategic Initiatives: Support the translation of strategic direction into operational considerations, ensuring initiatives are in alignment with organizational goals.

Collaborative Partners

In this individual contributor role, you will influence and collaborate with various teams to drive successful strategic planning:

  • Data & Analytics Resources: Partner with team members to interpret analyses and identify data-driven insights for strategic planning.
  • Internal Cross-Functional Experts: Work across teams to uncover business context, gather insights, and align stakeholders.
  • Project/Program Management: Collaborate to ensure the effective planning and delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • External Consultants/Research: Translate external consultants’ recommendations and research into actionable plans.

Role Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Math/Statistics, or a related field is required; PhD preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in data analysis, business analytics, financial due diligence, strategic planning, or related fields. Background in Big 4, management consulting, or strategy roles is highly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Tools & Proficiency: Experience with SQL databases, statistical packages (Excel, Python/R), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Self-Driver: Ability to synthesize information into a compelling strategic POV and work effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and communicate complex topics clearly.
  • Analytical Skills: Familiarity with data and analytics concepts, translating data insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
