Job Role:
We are excited to expand our team with the role of Insurance Structuring Data Scientist, based in either Brooklyn, NY, or Boston, MA. This strategic position involves developing advanced principles that will further enhance our flood data platforms, positioning it as the top choice in the parametric flood insurance market. Your expertise in scientific and technical domains will be essential in creating structuring solutions that reduce basis risk and broaden coverage capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devise sophisticated parametric flood insurance structures to aid our (re)insurance partners in accurately pricing their submissions.
- Communicate with and present to insurance carriers regarding policy payout structures.
- Innovate and balance the structural needs of (re)insurers and risk holders while supporting them through the underwriting process.
- Enhance and develop pricing models and repeatable methodologies for new flood insurance programs backed by Floodbase.
- Drive the advancement and adoption of novel methodologies for estimating flood risk using Floodbase data and analytics.
About You:
Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a strong background in statistical inference, exploratory data analysis, and visualization, preferably with data on climate hazards using Python or R. You should have a Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Earth Science, Data Science, or a related field. Experience in the risk transfer domain, familiarity with NatCat perils, and understanding of (re)insurance risk are valuable additions. Proficiency in modern data platforms and API integration would be advantageous.
