Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in compute infrastructure and platforms, with specific knowledge in AI/ML products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategies for GHG emissions reductions, particularly in hardware and IT sectors.
  • Expertise in translating complex, data-driven insights into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences, including C-Suite executives.
  • Advanced knowledge of GHG accounting standards and emissions reduction metrics.
  • Ability to analyze and utilize data for decision-making in highly ambiguous environments, with exceptional analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and quantify GHG emission baselines and develop carbon reduction strategies for compute (AI/ML) products.
  • Own and articulate the overarching Carbon Reduction and Net Zero roadmap for these products.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to develop methodologies for energy consumption and carbon footprint measurement.
  • Present recommendations to leadership, manage budgets, and ensure clear communication to all stakeholders.
  • Develop analytical tools, best practices, standards, and processes to ensure high quality, efficiency, and flexibility across teams.
  • Seamlessly integrate into the broader Google carbon reduction and Net Zero roadmap.

About the Google Climate Operations Team

The Google Climate Operations team works across various operational and supply chain teams globally to develop and scale innovative solutions for energy and carbon reduction. Our mission is to create external market environments that facilitate decarbonization, enabling not just Google but others to achieve these ambitious goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000, inclusive of bonus, equity, and benefits. Please note that the salary range displayed in the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
