About the Role

As a Microsoft Technology Specialist (TS), you will be instrumental in winning customer decisions to purchase and use Microsoft technology and cloud services. This includes both Relational and Non-Relational scenarios, open-source databases, Azure Analytics Platform, Azure Cosmos DB, and Microsoft Fabric. You will help technical evaluators and decision-makers take the best decisions and uncover new opportunities for our sales specialists.

In this role, you will work within a virtual team of technical, partner, and consulting resources. You will educate customers at a technical level, demonstrate and prove our solutions, and drive the technical decision-making process to achieve and exceed quarterly sales targets. This opportunity allows you to maintain and develop deep technical expertise across both Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussions with customers using consultative sales methodology and technical expertise.
  • Build technical strategies that map customer vision into actionable plans.
  • Drive technical assessments, design solutions, and validate business cases for investment.
  • Articulate end-to-end architecture, including apps and data services like Azure Cosmos DB & OSS DB.
  • Identify new opportunities within customer engagements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to understand customer pain points and offer strategic solutions.
  • Share insights and best practices to drive product improvements and remove key blockers.
  • Maintain and grow expertise in Data Modernization, Analytics, and AI technologies.
  • Be an Azure platform evangelist for Analytics & Data Warehousing scenarios.
  • Scale through partners by identifying skill gaps and supporting partner technical capacity.
  • Develop customer technical skilling plans in collaboration with the customer and account team.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP 203), Enterprise Data Analyst Associate (DP 500), or Azure Cosmos DB Developer Specialty (DP 420) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Data and Analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, AWS Dynamo DB, GCP Big Query).
  • Experience leveraging partner solutions to solve customer needs.
  • Proven experience creating NoSQL and Analytics Proof of Concepts (PoC).
  • Proficiency in C#, Java, NodeJS, Python for NoSQL implementation.
  • Excellent communicator with deep technical product demo abilities.
  • Hands-on programming experience (Scala, Python, SQL) and deep domain knowledge in NoSQL & Analytics Platforms.
  • Track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives.
