Job Opportunity: Data Engineer III at Walmart Global Tech

Position Summary:

Join our team as a Data Engineer and be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines, implementing ETL processes, and ensuring the accuracy and availability of data.

About the Team

Our team focuses on customer, associate, and business needs, collaborating with Walmart International. We operate more than 5,200 retail units across 23 countries, including Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico, and South Africa.

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing data pipeline solutions using MSSQL, SSIS, and other ETL tools.
  • Implementing efficient and scalable ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into our data warehouse.
  • Utilizing distributed computing tools like Spark with Java/Scala (Java preferred).
  • Writing proficient SQL queries.
  • Working with Kafka and Spark streaming.
  • Managing workflows using Airflow or similar tools.
  • Handling large volumes of data from Flat files, APIs, and streaming sources.
  • Utilizing Google Cloud Platform with tools like BigQuery and DataProc (a plus).
  • Applying knowledge in data modeling.

Salary and Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes performance bonuses and potential stock options.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
  • OR a Master’s degree in Computer Science.

Preferred Qualifications

Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position:

  • Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years' experience.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
