Our team develops reusable technologies for customer acquisition, onboarding, and merchant empowerment, delivering seamless experiences for all stakeholders. We optimize tariffs and assortment aligned with Walmart's Everyday Low-Cost philosophy, ensuring exceptional seller support across various channels like in-store, mobile apps, and websites.

What You'll Do

You will lead small groups of 10-12 engineers, including offshore associates, on engineering projects by providing documentation, direction, and technical examples. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading medium to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
  • Translating project requirements into technical solutions
  • Conducting unit testing and troubleshooting issues
  • Performing design and code reviews, enhancing design to prevent defects
  • Promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, and standards

Must Have

We are looking for a seasoned Big Data Engineer with 8-12 years of industry experience and strong expertise in the following areas:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Hadoop, Hive, and Apache Spark
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, e.g., Scala (preferred), Python
  • Expertise in cloud computing platforms like Google Cloud Platform (preferred) and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with integration tools like Automic and Airflow
  • Ability to design data architecture for data warehouses or data lakes
  • Strong data modeling and migration skills
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical solutions

Nice to Have

While not mandatory, the following skills are a plus:

  • Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake, ThoughtSpot, Druid, Big Query, and ClickHouse
  • Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB and RDBMS like MySQL, Postgres
  • Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka

Salary & Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options.

Minimum Qualifications

The required minimum qualifications are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 4 years' experience, or
  • 6 years' experience in software engineering, or
  • Master's degree in Computer Science with 2 years' experience

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in data engineering
