Meta AI is looking for a talented Visiting Researcher to contribute to our dynamic team on a short-term contract basis. This unique position is geared towards PhD students eager to engage in experimental and practical applications surrounding artificial intelligence, particularly within the realms of Ego4D and Ego-Exo4D datasets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative methods to enhance the integrity and quality of the Ego4D and Ego-Exo4D datasets.
• Design accessible documentation to streamline user adaptation of the datasets.
• Utilize large-scale computing infrastructure to extract, manage, and analyze dataset features.
• Improve dataset usability, implement features like reduced resolution video, and promote broader adoption through strategies such as challenge management and targeted advertising.

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. All degrees must be completed prior to commencement of the role.
• Ability to secure and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
• Prior research experience in Computer Vision.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and familiarity with AI frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Demonstrated experience with Ego4D and/or Ego-Exo4D datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Record of significant research contributions evidenced by scholarships, publications, or similar recognitions in high-profile journals and conferences.
• Comprehensive software engineering and research experience, potentially verified through internships, contributions to open-source platforms, or coding competitions.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with an aptitude for evaluating different solutions and trade-offs.
• Experience in collaborative environments and effective cross-functional communication.

Location and Compensation

This opportunity is available globally with compensation ranging from $117,000/year to $137,000/year, depending on your experience and location. This package includes Meta's competitive benefits.
