Job Description

The ideal candidate will closely work with our client’s analytics, marketing, content, and consumer research teams. They will be solutions-oriented and possess extensive knowledge across most digital channels. The VP, Analytics candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to lead a skilled team of analytic associates in the execution and delivery of our products and services.

Data Strategy

  • Can approach complex problems by outlining several strategies, structure the methods from a cost/benefit perspective, and confidently guide a team through execution
  • Regarded as a "thought leader" within the Data team and wider region for strategic insight and the ability to apply insights to multiple client situations (core client work, BD, etc.)
  • Considered an SME in multiple areas and is capable of training other team members in these areas
  • Can independently drive both internal and external stakeholder alignment to implement strategy and meet specific business objectives

Communication Skills

  • Able to effectively identify and resolve issues, and predict and respond to the needs, opportunities, and challenges of clients and the internal team
  • Commands the attention of client audiences and turns presentations into constructive dialogues that facilitate discussions on improvements/new approaches, focusing on additional opportunities or BD
  • Can tailor presentations according to the audience
  • Adept at leading work sessions and meetings, even those with less structured agendas
  • Assists others in taking on leadership roles
  • Supervises others in organizing and crafting well-written documents
  • Utilizes clear, concise writing to connect key insights and communicate an effective story that illustrates key findings
  • Is flexible in demonstrating depth or breadth of expertise depending on the audience
  • Responsible for creating templates for best-in-class delivery of analytical outputs

Client Engagement

  • Is a visible presence to senior external clients and is a trusted advisor to mid-level client management
  • Can frame the key issues facing the client and develop recommended approaches
  • Actively reaches out to establish new business partnerships
  • Able to lead the development of a large client’s strategic agenda
  • Keeps track of and demonstrates the value generated by the data team
  • Focuses on increasing share and profitability of a client’s business
  • Proactively engages senior client team to inform them of industry and client-specific strategic issues
  • Is sought out by all clients as an expert on industry and client-specific strategic issues
  • Understands the key levers that can improve client business

Tools & Techniques

  • Recommends and understands various relevant data tools, martech/adtech platforms, and cloud solutions to address and identify both internal and external strategic needs
  • Understands the needs and applications of advanced analytical methods and works with Data Science/Engineering/Instrumentation SMEs to ensure projects are planned and executed correctly
  • Identifies and evaluates potential vendors and promotes vendors within our capability

Analytics

  • Planning and Implementation
    • Understands the potential investments or organizational relationships that need prioritizing to deliver against a data maturity model
    • Can achieve necessary buy-in from stakeholders to effectively measure cross-channel performance
    • Capable of leading requirement gathering workshops with clients and other disciplines
  • Insight Generation
    • Can offer comprehensive and future-focused recommendations to clients based on experience to ensure that maturity recommendations are holistic
    • Has the ability to develop models that prove the business value of analytical findings
    • Maintains high analytical expectations across the team

Qualifications

  • 10-12+ years of data & analytics experience
  • Has led large scale and complex marketing analytics engagements successfully
  • Master of the digital analytics space and has innovated to develop new opportunities
  • Experience working with both quantitative and qualitative research data, including social listening
  • Has demonstrated thought leadership within their organization by becoming a subject matter expert within an analytics environment
  • Has exhibited strong communication skills and has the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Ability to translate findings/results into clear, actionable and executable insights
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; strong business development skills are a plus
