The Role: VP of Machine Learning

As the VP of Machine Learning at Gravie, you will drive our AI/ML strategy, directly contributing to our overarching objectives and identifying key opportunities for leveraging AI/ML technologies. This position is perfect for leaders passionate about using advanced AI/ML methods to address real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and steer the AI/ML strategy in alignment with Gravie’s strategic goals.
- Manage the full ML project lifecycle, ensuring robust execution and delivery that meets our success criteria.
- Maintain adherence to the best ML practices and standards, while also defining KPIs to monitor and report on team performance.
- Lead and grow our ML team, promoting professional development and fostering collaboration.
- Liaise with various departments to ensure alignment of AI/ML initiatives with business demands and effective communication of data insights.
- Oversee data management infrastructure to support ML initiatives and enforce data governance standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML, evaluating their relevance and potential impact on our strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in AI/ML practices.

What You Bring:

- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in AI and Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in building and managing end-to-end ML projects, ideally in the healthcare or insurance sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of AI/ML and statistical models, with a proven track record of effective application in practical settings.
- Expertise in machine learning tools and libraries such as Python, TensorFlow, and others.
- Skills in leading a team and managing complex ML projects aligned with strategic business goals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a knack for strategic thinking.

Extra Considerations:

- Prior experience in startup environments, particularly in healthcare and insurance.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and visualization tools like Tableau.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
