AI is central to scaling and enhancing our human-centered teaching approach. We are looking for a VP of AI / Head of AI (all genders) based in Berlin or working remotely in the EU/UK to lead our founding AI team.

Your Mission with Us

The Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (VP of AI) / Head of AI will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, development, and implementation of AI initiatives across Lingoda. Collaborating closely with our Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams, you will lead a team of AI experts to ideate, prototype, and develop AI solutions that integrate into our Lingoda platform. Your team will serve as our AI lab, exploring new use cases, technologies, and possibilities - building rapid POCs and testing ideas. Once an idea is validated, the team will pass it to our development pods for further advancement.

This forward-thinking role requires deep understanding of AI technologies, a proven track record of successful AI projects, and the ability to align AI strategies with business objectives. This position reports directly to the CTO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the AI strategy, aligning it with overall business goals and product vision.
• Innovation and Development: Lead the research, development, and implementation of AI solutions to enhance products, services, and business processes.
• Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing AI team, fostering a culture of innovation and learning.
• Project Oversight: Oversee AI projects from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions effectively.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate AI strategies, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
• Ethics and Compliance: Ensure AI initiatives adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Market Analysis & Horizon Scanning: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation.

Your Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, including running a rapid lab/prototyping team on generating POCs.
• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, LLMs, and building AI products/solutions, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and data analytics.
