What You Will Do

• Develop the next generation of XAI algorithms in novel model architectures and expert domains
• Practical application and evaluation of XAI methods

What You Bring to the Table

• An excellent degree (Master of Science or equivalent) in Machine Learning or a related field
• Solid theoretical foundation and practical experience in machine learning
• Experience in training and evaluating machine learning models on large high-performance computing infrastructure
• Strong understanding of and practical experience with Deep Neural Networks for image- and time-series data
• Proficiency in Statistical Data Analysis
• Experience with large-scale Recommender Systems
• Theoretical and practical experience in Cognitive Science
• Experience in data (pre)processing in the context of psycho-physiological experimentation
• Proven research potential with existing publications and experience in presenting at international conferences and workshops
• Familiarity with the latest frameworks, back-ends, and programming languages for Deep Learning, especially Python 3 and PyTorch
• Experience with C++ programming is highly welcome
• Experience with Javascript for frontend development and visualizations is highly recommended
• Excellent programming skills and experience with Open Source software development
• Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Git
• Ability to work independently and in a structured team environment
• Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
• Passion and motivation for creating a transparent future in AI

The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the potential for extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours, with part-time options available.
