What You Will Do
- Develop the next generation of XAI algorithms in novel model architectures and expert domains
- Practical application and evaluation of XAI methods
What You Bring to the Table
- An excellent degree (Master of Science or equivalent) in Machine Learning or a related field
- Solid theoretical foundation and practical experience in machine learning
- Experience in training and evaluating machine learning models on large high-performance computing infrastructure
- Strong understanding of and practical experience with Deep Neural Networks for image- and time-series data
- Proficiency in Statistical Data Analysis
- Experience with large-scale Recommender Systems
- Theoretical and practical experience in Cognitive Science
- Experience in data (pre)processing in the context of psycho-physiological experimentation
- Proven research potential with existing publications and experience in presenting at international conferences and workshops
- Familiarity with the latest frameworks, back-ends, and programming languages for Deep Learning, especially Python 3 and PyTorch
- Experience with C++ programming is highly welcome
- Experience with Javascript for frontend development and visualizations is highly recommended
- Excellent programming skills and experience with Open Source software development
- Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Git
- Ability to work independently and in a structured team environment
- Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
- Passion and motivation for creating a transparent future in AI

The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the potential for extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours, with part-time options available.
