About the Role

The YMS Data Science Engineer will join our Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence (SMAI) group, playing a pivotal role in advancing our intelligent manufacturing and business operations. Based at our Taichung site, this position involves significant collaboration with global teams to build data-driven solutions that enhance our Assembly & Test operations worldwide.

As part of our SMAI group, you will focus on the in-house development of our Yield Management System (YMS), conducting analyses and developing new functionality to optimize manufacturing processes and improve yield.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand A&T manufacturing processes to identify optimization opportunities.
• Use statistics and machine learning for diagnostic, predictive, and detective analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business problems and craft new intelligent analysis solutions.
• Develop prototypes to assess the benefits of proposed solutions, automate ETL, and create analytic jobs and visualization reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong skills in data exploration and visualization with tools like JMP, SPSS, Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Proficient in analytics and modeling with a variety of data types (structured and unstructured).
• Ability to program in Python and SQL to meet complex analytic demands.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Education & Experience

A Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field, and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience in data analysis, machine learning modeling, and visualizing data.
