Overview
We are seeking a part-time (approximately 10-12 hours per week), seasoned data architect with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure and optimizing data flow in a Business Intelligence environment. The developer will support Sand Cherry clients with their database administration and development requirements. This is a short-term contract (2-3 months) for remote work. All candidates must have the legal right to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship or C2C.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design, structure, and maintenance of data, generally organized in relational databases
- Determines end-user requirements for data utilization, including analytics and visualization
- Ensures the accuracy and accessibility of data pertinent to the client’s organization or project
- Identifies and establishes connections to relevant data sources both internally and from third-party providers, including government data sources
- Assists in defining how data will be stored, used, integrated and managed by different data entities
- Evaluates current data architecture and data management processes to identify potential optimizations
- Envisions and outlines resource requirements to support all client data-related initiatives
- Supports Business Intelligence reporting and analytic requirements including GIS data visualization
- Defines additional data collection methods including manual survey processes if needed
- Establishes user access models for internal and public models while deploying techniques for user inquiry and presenting data insights visually
- Utilizes strong skills in data modeling and logic
- Develops effective data quality and integrity standards and processes
- Aggregates data from various sources to uncover cross-functional insights
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in cloud data architecture
- Proficient in Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Skilled in writing SQL code and familiar with SQL server
- Proficient in ETL and ELT tools and techniques, including Azure Data Factory
- Good scripting and programming skills, including Python and R
- Proven ability to work in a robust Business Intelligence environment
- Proven ability to document and adhere to business requirements
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients at all levels
- Data-oriented and well-organized
- Experience with cloud system administration and governance
- Experience working with various data sources and formats, including APIs, SFTPs, and flat files
- Experience implementing cloud solutions from inception to steady state
- Possession of Azure DP-900, DP-203, AZ-305 certifications

Compensation
For those assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is legally required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account several factors that influence compensation decisions, such as skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and delivery model. This is a short-term consulting engagement with an hourly range of $80-$115. Factors such as years of experience, education, geography and unique skills/qualifications for the specific role, and potential certifications may determine the final compensation.
