The Impact You’ll Make
Serna Bio is building the world’s first map of the druggable transcriptome, systematically expanding the universe of RNA biology for small molecule drug discovery. Using our Discovery Platform, we are tackling traditionally unapproachable targets from coding and non-coding RNA. As we continue to grow, we are looking to hire a smart, inquisitive, and delivery-focused Data Engineer to join our expanding team. Your work will help utilize the insights we are generating as we construct the map of the druggable transcriptome. You will employ your creativity and analytical thinking to create pipelines for data organization and transformation, and to develop analysis and visualization structures to extract insights and inform decisions. Your efforts will span database, server, large-scale processing, and visualization architectures.
The role primarily includes the following responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining our pipelines for NGS data
- Creating dashboards and other tools to make data accessible and usable
- NGS pipelines (e.g., Nextflow, Python, shell scripts) for HTS data analysis including, but not limited to, quality control, alignment, variant calling, annotation, deconvolution, etc.
- and DevOps support
- Automating deployment and monitoring processes
- Supporting documentation, discoverability, and governance of our data assets and data initiatives
- Assisting in administering our data platforms and tools
The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in achieving our goals.
You will collaborate with experts in various technological and scientific fields, working with our new Engineering function to construct a world-class systems architecture, and help drive company-wide efforts focused on extracting value from data.
You will be a hands-on contributor taking personal responsibility for delivering complex projects and contributing to broader business objectives
The Team You’ll Join
You will be a key member of our in silico group, which comprises chemical and bioinformatics experts. You will lead the design and implementation of the Technology supporting our discovery platform, and building differentiated in silico product offerings.
Your responsibilities will include building databases, structuring large volumes of HTS and NGS data. Performing diagnostics, monitoring, and managing pipelines, applications, and infrastructures from end-to-end, resolving problems and automating deployment, and monitoring processes.
Our team is highly interdisciplinary, and your work will interface with our wet and dry labs, ensuring that digital solutions meet long-term strategic goals while also meeting the immediate needs of bench scientists and computational/data/ML scientists.
