In Brief:
- CUR8 is seeking an adept Data Engineer to enhance our foundational data infrastructure and establish groundwork for exciting new data products.
- We're looking for someone with expertise in data exploration, data ingestion and data transformation.
- We need an individual who can excel in uncertain situations, think creatively, and develop novel, first-of-a-kind data products.
- If you're keen on a diverse role that allows you to sway decision-making and expand your data knowledge, this is the perfect opportunity.
- This position is a blend of remote and in-office work, from our charming Shoreditch office (split to be discussed).
About CUR8:
Science has declared it explicit: even if we optimize emission reduction, 200 Gigatonnes of carbon must still be eliminated from the atmosphere by 2050.
We have an extensive track record working with leading climate change actors, combining our robust technical and business know-how to accelerate the carbon removal industry. We collaborate with high-quality carbon removal providers and extend into developing carbon markets, opening unprecedented prospects for innovation, value, equity, and worldwide job creation. We believe the supply side of carbon removal presents the grandest opportunity for our business and the world.
We see the bigger picture. Along with our sister NGO, Rethinking Removals, we work collectively with the whole carbon removal ecosystem, encompassing suppliers, buyers, policymakers, and storytellers, to create and invest in future projects, ensuring ample carbon removals in 1, 5, 10 and 25 years' time.
About the role:
This is our premiere dedicated data role within our expanding product & engineering team.
You will form part of our inaugural in-house product squad and help evolve our current technical platform. We seek a data specialist who can help us cement strong technical underpinnings for our software and guide us in exploring uncharted territory to develop unique, industrial-first data products.
About our team:
We are a compact yet powerful team; combined, we have built, expanded, and sold flourishing tech businesses, advised governments on net zero, shaped global narratives at establishments like Nature, New Scientist, and the BBC, led startup support and investments at Google, and founded carbon removal startups. We even gave a TED talk on carbon removal – haven't you yet?
About our stack:
Our tech stack is emergent and evolving!
Currently, we utilize modern technologies like React, Typescript, Next.js on the frontend, and Nest.js, GraphQL & PostgreSQL on the backend. Firebase is our choice for authentication, Git & Github for version control, with automatic deployment on DigitalOcean and a planned transition to GCP microservices architecture in the future.
