Our team is rapidly expanding and looking for a seasoned Data Engineer to support our customer base and join our team of high-impact problem solvers. We thrive on human-centered design, security, and scale challenges to deliver better results for our federal agency partners. We prioritize remote work and are entirely open-source.

About the role:

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibility will be constructing and maintaining extract, transform, load (ETL) pipelines for complete data operations, from ingestion to query. You'll employ your comprehensive knowledge of data architecture, database management, and data processing workflows to ensure efficient and secure management of our data resources.

What we are looking for:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with proficiency in , Python, and/or Javascript
  • Capability to advise on and craft data models that cater to programmatic and operational needs, merging different datasets, and augmenting transactional data as needed
  • Experience in defining and managing consistent data cleaning and quality testing pipelines
  • Expertise to advise on and develop APIs
  • A willingness to learn and apply software development best practices
  • Ability to acquire Security+ within 90 days of joining Raft
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Highly preferred:

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Several years of experience in data engineering and data architecture in industry settings

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
