Job Description

ARHS Digital is seeking a Data Functional Analyst & BI Developer to join a new team of one of its clients in Brussels, a major participant in the Belgian social security sector.

The Data Functional Analyst & Architect plays a pivotal role in the requirements gathering and data modelling of data analytics solutions (data warehouses, data marts) and/or development of data solutions, including regular engagement with the Business to comprehend business needs and translate them into data & technical requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

• Facilitating and conducting interviews with business end users to determine functional and non-functional requirements for BI solutions.
• Translating business needs into logical and physical data models with complete documentation.
• Working with the data architect to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the BI solutions according to established standards (data integration, data warehouse, data marts) consistent with functional and non-functional requirements (performance, data volume).
• Testing the analytics solution, performing troubleshooting, providing maintenance and adequate technical documentation.
• Creating visualizations and reports for requested projects in Power BI or SSRS.
• Conducting prototype reviews and demonstrations, including training on the data model to the business users.
• Working with the Project Leader throughout the project life cycle to ensure appropriate delivery using an agile and pragmatic approach.

• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Technical Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data functional analysis and BI development in the Microsoft BI stack (including SSIS / SSAS).
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Strong data modelling experience (logical and physical modelling).
• Good experience in data warehouse design (Kimball dimensional modelling).
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (from a development perspective), SQL queries, T-SQL.
• Good understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL framework.
• Experience in visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SSRS.
• Experience in Master Data Management and Data Quality Management would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the following tools would be considered an asset: modelling tool (e.g. Enterprise Architect), Azure data analytics tools (Azure data factory, Databricks,…)
