As a leader in Data Science, you can view various angles of a product or business opportunity, and you're adept at connecting the dots and interacting with people in diverse roles and functions. You have significant experience with analytical tools and techniques, and possess a solid skill-set in data analysis and communication of recommendations.

Leveraging your leadership prowess and professional expertise, you manage a team of data scientists and analysts, plan project objectives, and spearhead the overall strategy for your group. You're a recognized authority in your field, and you develop, organize, and launch projects that span across engineering and analysis.



What you will be doing:

  • Lead project teams focusing on ML product development and product analytics. Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders and teams, and coordinate closely with Engineers and Product Managers to recognize opportunities for design and to assess product enhancements.
  • Supervise machine learning product development projects with hands-on involvement. Build, review, deploy, scale, and enhance operational machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, understand business questions, and formulate quantitative analyses that inform data-driven decisions. Create data-driven products in partnership with engineering and product management teams and design impactful experiments.
  • Influence functional teams and establish best practices across the organization.
  • Communicate and visually present insights higher up the chain, informing decision-making processes. Create interactive visualizations to facilitate analytics and promote ML products to non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to the Data Science Center of Excellence knowledge base and documentation. Provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participate in recruitment and the interview process to expand the team. Onboard and mentor junior team members, aiding them in developing the necessary skills and knowledge.



Does this sound like you?

  • A Master’s Degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics/Data Science, Physics, Operations Research, Economics or other quantitative fields of Social Science. PhD preferred.
  • 7-10 years of tech industry work experience as a data scientist, statistician, or machine learning engineer. Profound knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation methods.
  • Competent in Python, SQL, Spark, and big data query language.
  • Profound knowledge and practical experience in recommendation systems, machine learning, NLP, statistics, and deep learning
  • Proficient with ML model deployment at scale. Experience with automating feedback loops for production algorithms/models and creating repeatable processes and scalable data products
  • Able to evaluate improvements in business efficiency or customer experience based on research outcomes
  • Experienced in developing partnerships and influencing cross-functional leaders
  • Ability to navigate complex business environments and manage multiple cross-functional stakeholders. Preferably, experience in leading large projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.



Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000 per year, you will also be eligible to receive Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant and additional variable annual bonus based on the Company's performance. *This is the pay range that the Company believes is fair for this position at the time of this posting.
