As the Data Operations Summer Intern at PitchBook for 2024, you will ensure the data used in the PitchBook platform is comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date. You will use our in-house developed Research Tool Suite (RTS), Excel, and other tools to help the team meet high-quality standards, increasing efficiency, productivity, and quality. You will work with teams across the Data Operations department, including secondary and primary research, sourcing operations and project management. Our Summer Internship is a full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June to August 2024.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Research events and information related to the private equity and venture capital industries.
- Gather and verify information via web research, managing the information in our research database.
- Utilize our in-house database, business intelligence reports and other tech-based tools to ensure proprietary data is efficiently audited and added to the PitchBook Platform.
- Develop research tracking methods to guarantee high-quality data.
- Collaborate regularly with other data operations team members to learn about different datasets and assist in various data quality initiatives.
- Effectively communicate with your team and other stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, addressing challenges and celebrating success.
- Partake in a Career Readiness program to develop necessary skills for early-career employees.
- Support the company's vision and values through role modeling and promoting desired behaviors.
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Interest in working with numbers and large amounts of data.
- Appreciation for well-thought-out processes and a drive to improve them.
- Ability to work effectively in a team but also independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented, curious, and innovative approach to work.
- Interest in the private equity, venture capital, and M&A industries.
- May be in the process of completing a 4-year college degree, possibly in the fields of finance and/or economics.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday, from June to August 2024.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to learn new systems and software easily.
