We are currently hiring for our Paris office, a Junior Data Engineer (M/F; 6-month intern)


The Team

The data engineering team collaborates closely with product teams, leveraging proprietary technologies involving computer vision on satellite images and AIS or geolocation data, to measure or forecast energy and emissions market fundamentals.

Responsibilities

We are hiring a Data Engineer to construct our stacks and automate the solutions and algorithms provided by our team of Data Scientists, under the guidance of a Senior Data Engineer.

As a data engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Converting prototypes into reliable products
  • Working closely with computer vision researchers to integrate and scale their algorithms
  • Designing, constructing, and testing industry-grade data pipelines
  • Providing technical support to Data Scientists during exploratory analysis
  • Evaluating performance and optimizing all parts of the stack
  • Learning and enhancing code quality guidelines
  • Continuously contributing ideas to improve products


Technology stack

  • Languages: Python, Golang
  • Tools: Message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka), data processing, satellite imagery (Rasterio, Gdal, Fiona…), tests (Unit test...)

This position is perfect if you're searching for a six-month internship that begins anytime between January and May 2024 and you're keen to join a rapidly expanding startup.

    • Adept Python 3 Engineer able to write reusable, testable, and efficient code and mentor others to do the same
    • Eagle-eyed passion and track record for crafting data pipelines focusing on software engineering, software architecture, code quality, and best practices
    • You're dynamic, inquisitive, and keen to learn about the domains of energy and natural resources
    • You're independent and proactively contribute new ideas and challenge existing solutions.
    • You can thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • You're able to communicate proficiently in English, including with non-technical individuals
    • You are enthusiastic about contributing actively and making a significant impact on the company's success
    • You can comfortably operate in a Linux environment
    • Preferred: prior experience with some components of our current platform: CI/Orchestration, Docker, Elasticsearch, Postgre, Spark
