Position Overview:
ShapeTX® is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong data science and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) experience to join the rapidly growing Analytics and Informatics team as an Associate/Sr. Associate Computational Biologist. This person will work with diverse molecular and NGS datasets crucial to improving gene therapies' efficacy. The ideal candidate will have specific expertise in handling NGS components and data structures.

Position Duties:
1. Design strategies to process and analyze NGS data.
2. Play a vital role in collaborative efforts.
3. Generate and present impactful data visuals.
4. Consult with experimentalists on experimental design.
5. Use quality control metrics to troubleshoot.
6. Learn, test, and adapt new software and methods.
7. Maintain clearly documented code.
8. Work alongside the Analytics and Informatics team per evolving business objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Statistics, Genomics, Bioinformatics or related fields.
Skills and Experience:
Experience in processing and analyzing molecular data types, programming language (R, Python), data science tools (tidyverse, pandas), cloud-based services or HPC clusters, version control systems (e.g. Git). Excellent multitasking, effective communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to solve problems and meet the challenges of a fast-paced start-up environment. Preferable: Background in molecular biology or NGS experimental protocols, and knowledge in virology, protein biology, RNA biology, neurobiology, or genetic diseases.
