Job Description

We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer with expertise in designing and building business intelligence and data analytics applications.

In this position, you will be part of ServiceNow's Big Data Team within our Cloud Services division. This team is creating our next-generation platform that can collect, store, and provide instant access to vast amounts of data.

You will be responsible for driving the design and deployment of ServiceNow's in-house real-time data visualization and analytics platform to support our growth.

Responsibilities:

  • You will bring your innovation and experience in designing and building the next generation data analytics platform using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Playing a pivotal role in our global engineering team to manage the entire product design and implementation process.
  • Standardizing processes for a complete development cycle including design, implementation, unit testing, code review, testing automation etc.
  • Adopting the correct technologies to improve the scalability and productivity of the engineering group.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders and product owners to drive technical design for various use case requirements.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams (DevOps, network, QA, etc.) to ensure a smooth transition from development to deployment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you need:

  • 6+ years of software development experience in data visualization, data analytics, BI tools, and the Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting enterprise data analytics products that are scalable and performant.
  • Expert level skills in JavaScript, with a strong preference for ReactJS as well as proficiency in NodeJS, Webpack or other modern UI frameworks, Java and REST API development.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of ServiceNow Platform development is preferred.
  • The ability to create high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked in for continuous integration.
  • A strong background in intricate SQL and data analytics.
  • Passion for continuous learning and adoption of new ideas and patterns.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design.

For jobs in the Bay Area, we offer a base salary ranging $152,000 - $266,000, plus equity (if applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Sales positions usually include competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline only, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), matching donations, a flexible time off policy, and family leave programs (depending on eligibility). Compensation is based on the job's geographical location and can be adjusted based on the employee's location of work.
