As a Cloud Data Architect at Clarkston, you will:
- Construct and create platforms for scalable solutions
- Design, prototype, and develop Big Data Platforms using Azure or AWS
- Interact with all staff levels, management, stakeholders, and vendors
- Exhibit advanced analytical and conceptual skills to develop original concepts/theories for various projects
- Offer forward-thinking technical expertise in contemporary and future technologies, trends, and practices
- Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges, including regulatory, recommending process, product, or service improvements
- Design and spearhead architectural strategies in line with business and strategic goals
- Turn business goals and objectives into IT capabilities and devise technical solutions

Requirements
What We're Looking For:
The Cloud Data Architect will support our client(s) by leading client initiatives, coaching junior data architects and data engineers in Clarkston's analytics team, helping to define client solutions, and assist in managing the delivery of these solutions.
An ideal Cloud Data Architect candidate would possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience with data management solutions using data lake platform tools and technologies
- Experience with data architecture, specifically supporting data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management, and reference data management
- Familiarity with delivering Data as a Service (DaaS) concepts from enterprise repositories using REST APIs
- Familiarity with Azure or AWS-based data and data management tools, such as Azure SQL Azure Data Catalog, Azure Service Fabric, and microservices
- Familiarity with data integration points for TOGAF (or other recognized architecture framework)
- Working knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.
- Familiarity with developing data catalogues, and integrating with existing enterprise architecture
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and process automation
- Experience using various data modeling techniques and their appropriate usage in data integration
- Experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
- Significant experience analyzing business processes and functions
- Significant experience as an engineer or technical subject matter expert in two or more of the following areas: infrastructure; data; application; security-related technology
- Proficient skill in creating system diagrams for review by both technical and non-technical audiences
- Advanced analytical and conceptual skills to create original concepts/theories for various projects
- Ability to develop and apply architectural governance based on business and information technology strategies
- Proficiency in applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issues
- Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulatory; recommend process, product or service enhancements
- Capacity to provide forward-looking technical expertise in contemporary and future technologies, trends and practices
- A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
Travel Requirement
Travel forms an essential part of this role and is estimated to average between 20-30%. This may differ based on client and project needs. When not traveling, consultants work from their homes. Relocation is not a requirement.
