This position focuses on the Fair and Responsible Banking Compliance Team, emphasizing statistical testing and analysis, data collection and manipulation, and monitoring to detect and mitigate fair lending and UDAAP risk. The role also involves ensuring the Bank meets its Community Reinvestment Act obligations. The successful candidate will have experience with advanced statistical models and concepts, alongside strong data extraction, manipulation, and aggregation skills. Reporting directly to the Deputy Fair Lending Officer, this role requires strategic and critical thinking, regulatory expertise, and an understanding of consumer and small business financial services.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Conduct statistical analyses and bias testing to review financial decision outcomes and models for fair and responsible banking compliance risk.
  • Extract, manipulate, and prepare data for regulatory reporting and monitoring, particularly concerning the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to explain statistical results and analytical insights in both non-technical and technical formats to various stakeholders.
  • Conduct focused analytical research to advance GS Bank’s fair and responsible banking analytical skills and tools.
  • Provide support to the Fair and Responsible Banking Analytics Team in program management, process documentation, practices, and reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services, modeling, data analysis, or statistics, or equivalent experience through work, training, military service, or education.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science.
  • Strong computing skills, particularly in statistical and high-performance computing / data manipulation using SAS, R, Python, or other statistical packages.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and explaining complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills, with experience articulating complex problems and solutions clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks with effective time-management and influencing skills.
  • Experience conducting statistical testing and developing methodologies for analytical testing or monitoring, especially concerning financial regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in cross-organizational projects and collaboration with other business functions.
  • Experience working for or consulting a bank, consumer financial product company, banking regulator, or similar government agency.
  • Conceptual and quantitative problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively.
  • Knowledge of the financial industry, model development practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of fair lending regulatory and modeling concepts.
