As a Data Scientist at PicnicHealth, the employees in the Quantitative Sciences (QS) team are tasked with analyzing, evaluating, and enhancing our Real World Data (RWD) to develop practical insights and evidence for our partners in the life sciences. We are looking for an experienced data scientist to join our team to perform personalized statistical analyses and to assist our partners in deriving value from our data. Roles on the QS team place you at the crossroads of scientific insight and technological advancement. You'll advise our product teams on how to improve the quality and usability of our databases. You'll collaborate with physicians and epidemiologists to influence the company's scientific direction. You'll partner with fellow data scientists to create tools and algorithms in R that provide reliable, reproducible insights for our team and our partners. In the role of a Data Scientist, your tasks will include using PicnicHealth's extensive, multi-modal real-world datasets to answer vital clinical questions, transforming real-world data into actionable insights by building analytics, statistical methods, efficient data visualizations in R, collaborating with a cross-functional team to determine and clarify analytic requirements, develop strategies for analysis, uphold data quality measurements, and create methods and results that are ready for publication. We would like to speak with you if you have an advanced degree in (bio)statistics, epidemiology, health economics, or a related field, have at least 5 years of experience in a quantitative role, including experience at a pharmaceutical company, contract research organization (CRO), or similar life sciences/biotech company, have advanced experience with R, or intermediate R knowledge + advanced experience with another statistical programming environment (SAS, Stata, Python), have experience applying statistical methodologies to medical data, including real-world data, and are an excellent oral and written communicator, comfortable communicating with clients. We are primarily a remote company, with team members scattered across the US. We aim for in-person gatherings on a quarterly basis; expect to travel up to 4 times a year. For our team members in the Bay Area who prefer to work in person, we offer a hybrid setup to work from our San Francisco office on a flexible schedule. The base salary PicnicHealth offers may differ based upon the ultimate scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
