About the Team
The Token Research Team sits within the Legal and Compliance Division and is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative research on various technical, legal, and compliance-related issues. Okcoin is based in San Jose, California, and has customers worldwide with offices in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The Token Research Team provides research support for Okcoin team members across the globe.
About the Opportunity
Sitting within the Legal and Compliance Division, your primary responsibility will be drafting objective and thorough due diligence reports on tokens across numerous ecosystems that are being considered for listing on the company's exchanges around the globe. You will be required to perform "Politically Exposed Person" and sanctions screenings, investigate smart contracts, assess levels of decentralization, evaluate protocol tokenomics, use block explorers like Etherscan, survey wallet addresses, and much more. You also will provide nuanced technical insight to the Legal, Risk and Listing teams throughout the review process to help ensure our customers are protected from negligent and/or bad actors.
What You'll be Doing
You’ll be responsible for conducting deep research and analysis to prepare substantive due diligence reports that will assist the Legal and Compliance Division. Analyzing data drawn from network nodes or market sources, reviewing smart contracts, reporting on critical vulnerabilities, evaluating protocol tokenomics at a granular level, and much more. Building frameworks and processes to preemptively track changes in supported ecosystems and protocols, including new governance proposals, hardforks, node client upgrades, etc. Independently responding to and managing research requests and making recommendations to senior management. Serving as an educational resource for the rest of the organization, including partnering with relevant teams to provide training and strengthen oversight capabilities across the organization. Provide advisory services to other parts of the business on analytical, quantitative, and qualitative problems.
What We Look For In You
Bachelor's degree with strong academic achievement. 4 years of work experience in a similar or technical role (e.g. product manager/ developer / analyst / data scientist). A deep understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, decentralization, nodes, DAO governance, tokenomics, smart contracts, block explorers like Etherscan, and crypto communities. Robust analytical skills with an ability to aggregate information from a variety of sources and distill data into informed insights and conclusions. Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner. A strong attention to detail and an ability to execute with speed, high standards, and a passion for sharing knowledge within your team and organization. Excitement for conducting legal and compliance research. Software Experience – Microsoft Office 365, Advanced Excel, SQL, Solidity.

Experience performing PEP and sanctions screenings. Familiarity with the Howey Test. Fluent in Mandarin.
