Washburn Center for Children, a premier children’s mental health center, is dedicated to serving the diverse needs of children struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, and trauma. For over 141 years, our nonprofit has provided critical mental health interventions, helping children and their families find hope. We serve nearly 4,000 children (ages 0-18) and 9,000 family members annually through our locations in Brooklyn Park, Edina, and Minneapolis, along with in-home and school-based services across 50+ schools in the Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Minneapolis, Savage, Burnsville, and Eagan school districts.
About the Position: Advancement Data and Prospect Research Manager
The Advancement Data and Prospect Research Manager plays a pivotal role in donor relations and fundraising efforts, focusing on database management, data entry, analysis, reporting, and prospect research management. This key member of our development team works under the guidance of the Director of Development and Major Gifts. Responsibilities include:
Advancement Data Responsibilities
- Manage data functions like gift processing and acknowledgment, ensuring timely mailing of acknowledgment letters within 2-3 business days.
- Conduct regular audits for accuracy in the Raiser’s Edge constituent database.
- Create and maintain financial and analytical reports as directed.
- Perform financial reconciling between the database and organizational financial systems.
- Implement processes to maintain data integrity and support development operations.
- Manage donor moves in Raiser’s Edge NXT to aid donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Provide training and technical support for Raiser’s Edge to staff.
- Regularly update the database and Constant Contact lists, ensuring contacts are appropriately coded and moved through the development process.
Prospect Research Responsibilities
- Develop and implement prospect research processes to expand the donor pipeline and maintain progress for top-rated prospects.
- Conduct prospect research to support current and future donor engagement.
- Utilize Raiser’s Edge and Research Point to provide donor insights and produce fundraising reports.
- Prepare prospect profiles and meeting prep sheets for individual and institutional donors.
- Maintain database structures to identify data segments for analysis and targeted fundraising.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in database administration or record management.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible database management experience.
- Proficiency in managing donor and constituent databases, database administration, prospect management, data imports and exports, and report development.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
- Ability to translate between end users' needs and database output effectively.
- Experience organizing, prioritizing work, and managing multiple priorities to meet goals.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build effective internal and external relationships.
- Diligent work ethic and the capacity to address challenges and opportunities strategically.
- Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Experience in nonprofit or healthcare/social service organizations is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The starting salary range is $68-75k annually, based on experience. This full-time, exempt position requires primarily Monday-Friday work hours, with some evenings and weekends as needed.
