Job Description

As a Data Architect, your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining data platform roadmaps and data structures that aid business and technological objectives. You should be naturally curious, eager to dive deep into underlying data, discover actionable insights, and collaborate with functional competencies to enact identified actions. You should enjoy both autonomous work and team collaboration, possess the capability to influence and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, and be prepared to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with conflicting priorities.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the delivery leader, your main objective will be to deliver accessible, up-to-date, and prompt data content to support and propel business decisions. The primary focus is to provide a tailored solution to meet multiple business-critical requirements. You will be involved in every aspect of data engineering, from delivery planning, estimating and analysis, to data architecture and pipeline design, delivery, and production implementation. You will also participate in designing and implementing intricate data solutions ranging from batch to streaming and event-driven architectures, across cloud, onsite, and hybrid client technology landscapes.

 Role Description:

We require 6+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering in a client-facing or business-centric capacity, including the following skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and articulate requirements to audiences of varying technical proficiency
  • Stakeholder and team member management and communication skills, including prioritizing, problem solving and interpersonal relationship building
  • Strong experience in SDLC delivery, including waterfall, hybrid, and Agile methodologies
  • Experience in implementing and delivering data solutions and pipelines on Cloud Platforms
  • A strong understanding of data modeling, data structures, databases, and ETL processes
  • An extensive comprehension of large-scale data sets, including both structured and unstructured data
  • Experience in delivering CI/CD and DevOps capabilities in a data environment
  • Ability to develop new inbound data source ingestions within the multi-tiered data platform to boost analytics and marketing automation solutions
  • Capability to support data pipelines – creating necessary dimensions, rules, segments, and aggregates
  • Maintenance and performance monitoring of all database operations, pipeline ingestion, etc.
  • Monitoring of platform health, including data loads, extracts, failures, and performance tuning
  • Ability to create/modify data structures/pipelines
  • Experience using Databricks Lakehouse functionality to construct Common/Conformed layers within the data lake
  • Ability to consider software best practice elements, such as infrastructure cost, security, scalability, feature extensibility, and ease of maintenance
  • Ability to develop, document, and test software and environment setup to ensure deliverables meet end-user requirements and business objectives

Qualifications

The following technical skills are required:

  • Tech Stack: Databricks, Python, SQL, R, Spark, etc.
  • Experience in guiding Databricks implementations
  • Designing and building Data Lakes and Lakehouses
  • Extensive knowledge in ETL, audience segmentation, and identity resolution
  • Experience developing sustainable, scalable, and adaptable data pipelines
  • Designing and developing data pipelines for data ingestion or transformation using Cloud technologies
  • Experience in the following Big Data frameworks: File Format (Parquet, etc.), Resource Management, Distributed Processing
  • Experience developing applications with Monitoring, Build Tools, Version Control, Unit Test, TDD, and Change Management to support DevOps

The following soft skills are required:

  • Detailed attention in design, documentation, and test coverage of completed tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, business understanding, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both within a team and independently

The following skills would be advantageous:

  • Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka or other methods for streaming
  • Spark programming knowledge (PySpark or Scala for example)
  • Experience with identity resolution within the media space
