Enlighten is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The Data Scientist will develop and apply mathematical, problem-solving, and coding skills to manage diverse data and derive valuable insights. The data will comprise both structured and unstructured information from various activities in support of multi-domain operations. The position will be hybrid, requiring some on-site customer support. Capabilities: - The Data Scientist will use their expertise in machine learning, statistical data analysis, and predictive analysis to craft and implement data solutions for diverse Department of Defense (DoD) datasets. - They will be in charge of developing innovative methods for extracting key parameters from structured and unstructured data from various sensors. - They should be competent in applying the latest technologies in machine learning, data mining, and predictive analysis to correlate different datasets and events, and produce value. - They must have experience in data mining, natural language processing, and sentiment analysis of social media datasets. - They will be tasked with highly unstructured and complex project assignments with little definition or clarity. - They will systematically design approaches to segment research and coordinate input from subject matter experts in the problem area. - They will define problem nature or clarify issues through extensive coordination, research, and data collection. - They will provide expert judgment on the credibility, responsiveness to directives/objectives, and validity of models and other analytical techniques. - They are expected to prepare reports and briefings summarizing results derived from documentation, assumptions, facts, and approaches. - They must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal input and as part of a team. - They may be assigned additional responsibilities. - They must be able to work a hybrid schedule with the local Enlighten team members. Required Qualifications: - A current Secret level U.S. Government clearance is needed, and hence, all candidates must be U.S. Citizens. Candidates with a TS clearance may also be considered. - 5 years of Data Science or similar experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; OR a High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience. - Strong familiarity with machine learning, data mining, dimensionality reduction, and related analytic methods (e.g., clustering, sequences, networks, time series, deep learning, regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, supervised classification and unsupervised learning, statistical analytics, etc.). - Experience with mathematical programming languages such as Python and R, and their data science libraries. - Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Jupyter, Tableau, Amazon Sagemaker). - Familiarity with scalable distributed data processing, management, and visualization tools. - Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics). - They must be able to work in a hybrid role with some on-site customer interaction. Desired Technical Skills: - Experience with large-scale machine learning model generation. - Experience with DoD data types and current DoD Data Strategies.
