Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist within SBG, you will:

• Leverage extensive datasets to decipher how customers interact with our products and services.
• Proactively spot opportunities to elevate the business experience on Facebook’s platforms.
• Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of data-focused projects, overseeing everything from data collection to model creation and insights delivery.
• Use advanced analytical and modeling techniques to collaborate with cross-functional teams and uncover new opportunities.
• Plan and execute rigorous experiments like A/B testing to inform strategic decision-making and influence business directions.
• Convey complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to business leaders and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

• Proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis using either R or Python, along with packages like pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn, or tidyverse.
• A Bachelor's of Science/Arts in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or Operations Research.
• At least five years of data science experience, ideally within areas like business strategy, marketing, finance, engineering, or analytics.
• Strong skills in data querying and manipulation with SQL, Python, or R.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience in experimental design.

Preferred Qualifications

• An advanced degree such as an MBA, Master’s or Doctorate in a related quantitative discipline.
• Proven success in applying data science to deliver tangible business value.
• Strong project initiation and leadership skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity.

• Capabilities to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
