The Role

If you enjoy aiding organizations in becoming more data-oriented and teaching others how to use data – all for the sake of gaining and retaining more customers at every step of the customer lifecycle – then you will be an excellent fit for this position. As a Data & Analytics Manager, you will guide our data team, composed of a Senior Modern Data Stack Engineer, a Senior Analytics Engineer, and two Data Analysts, to meet business-wide data requirements. Your past experience in swiftly responding to changing priorities, overcoming constraints, and scaling data pipelines, dimensional modeling, and transformation layers is crucial. The role includes creating partnerships across the organization while enhancing both data integrity and insights. You will report to the VP of Operations.

You

You are an established data & analytics manager with a diverse skillset that enables you to guide and coach your team towards successful outcomes. You feel confident managing data platforms (Segment + Redshift+ Census) and ensuring data availability for company-wide consumption. As an in-house expert, you oversee the entire customer journey, improve the organization's data maturity, and instruct in data-informed decision-making. You are recognized for being reliable, an excellent collaborator with your peers, and contributing to several business objectives.

Your responsibilities and achievements include:

  • Establishing the strategic priorities for the data team in collaboration with the VP of Operations.
  • Adopting a servant leadership approach to manage the data team's performance and coach for potential. The expectation is a 50/50 split between management and contributor role.
  • Optimizing the value of our data tooling and infrastructure.
  • Encouraging, educating, and supporting the entire ConvertKit team to make data-informed decisions.
  • Negotiating data contracts, long-term planning, and meeting short-term business needs.
  • Supporting ongoing analysis of business performance.
  • Uncovering insights about the business and our customers.
  • Driving alignment across the business for data priorities and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm and belief in the ConvertKit mission, vision, and values.
  • Hands-on Analyst Experience: In data analysis, with exposure to both front-end and back-end work.
  • A proven ability to manage projects and priorities, deliver on commitments, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Former experience leading a full-stack data team.
  • Familiarity with SaaS KPIs, recurring revenue metrics, and ideally ad revenue business.
  • Advanced command of SQL and experience with visualization tools on large datasets.
  • Experience with data-centric languages (R/Python) preferred.
  • Experience conducting customer segmentation, cohort analysis, and product funnel analysis preferred.
  • A passion for the iterative process of discovering new business opportunities through data.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A commitment to practicing radical candor.
  • A willingness to build meaningful relationships within the ConvertKit team.
  • Comfort working in a remote-first environment.

Benefits

At ConvertKit, we have standardized salaries according to the position, regardless of where you live. For this role, we are hiring at level M3 ($175,000 USD) or M4 ($198,500 USD), determined based on experience and our interview process.
