Our Global Data & Analytics (D&A) team is the nucleus of gathering and analyzing data to guide strategic business decisions for our brands. Our D&A associates collaborate with partners from various business functions, providing insights that encourage our teams to push boundaries and remain ahead of retail trends.

We are currently looking for a Data Science Manager to lead our enterprise-focused data science team. This role involves supervising the conception, development, and implementation of data science solutions across crucial areas such as supply chain, planning, and pricing. This spans network optimization, transportation and fulfillment optimization, DC logistics, visibility, transparency, demand forecasting, and price optimizations.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Guide and manage a team of 3-4 data scientists or data analysts.
  • Be responsible for the ideation, development, and implementation of data science solutions in supply chain, planning, and pricing areas.
  • Create and execute data science solutions to enhance supply chain functions, including transportation, logistics, network optimization, visibility, transparency, and others.
  • Direct data science initiatives relating to demand forecasting and inventory optimization such as identification of demand signals, refining demand forecasting models to support effective inventory management.
  • Lead price optimization projects to increase revenue and profitability, including carrying out price elasticity analyses and developing markdown optimization tools.
  • Offer thought leadership in the field of data science and AI, keeping the team updated with industry developments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities for data-driven solutions, aligning data science efforts with organizational goals; define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the performance of data science products.
  • Assess machine learning components with 3rd-party tools, evaluate their performance and make recommendations to guide procurement decisions.
  • Communicate complex models and data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.

What Do You Need To Bring?

  • A Bachelor's degree (post-graduate preferred) in disciplines related to data science, data analytics, mathematics, engineering, or other STEM fields.
  • 6-8 years of experience in data science, focusing on supply chain operations and management; retail environment a plus; 2-3 years of team management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of various data science models and their business applications (regression, clustering, classification, optimization, recommendation, NLP, etc.); understanding of demand forecasting & inventory optimization models is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data science products in cloud environments (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
  • High proficiency in data processing and modeling languages such as SQL, Python or R.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creativity to devise innovative solutions to complex supply chain issues.
  • Basic understanding of data engineering and MLOps concepts.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical topics and distill them for a business audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
