About the Position: Research Engineer - Computer Vision & Machine Learning

As a Research Engineer, your role will involve developing advanced computer vision and tracking software to support Meta’s AR and VR technologies. You will plan and execute novel research aimed at advancing machine perception technologies and enhancing user context understanding. This position is perfect for candidates passionate about developing new algorithms for 3D scene understanding, 2D/3D object detection, and recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop state-of-the-art computer vision software for real-time applications.
  • Research and prototype advanced techniques for machine perception and scene understanding.
  • Create robust integration systems for multiple sensors to enhance scene comprehension.
  • Develop innovative human-in-the-loop data annotation tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD or postdoctoral) in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in computer vision, particularly in 2D/3D scene understanding.
  • Proficient in programming with C++ or Python and familiar with libraries like OpenCV or Torch.
  • Strong foundation in image analysis, machine learning, 3D geometry, and related areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in computer vision application development and deployment.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and advanced machine learning techniques.
  • Significant professional experience and a strong publication record in relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with data annotation tools and techniques for machine learning models.
