Senior Data Engineer: Contractor
Kaizen Analytix LLC, an analytics services company, is seeking a competent Senior Data Engineer Contractor to support data science or data analytics projects. The responsibilities, capabilities necessary for success, and job requisites are detailed below. This role demands a projected commitment of 40 hours per week for approximately 24 weeks.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be accountable for supporting a data science or data analytics project.
- Collaborate with client IT to understand the access and use of original data systems and downstream data sources.
- Partner with data scientists or visualization specialists to identify data requirements such as structure, latency, and availability.
- Work with IT Security to appraise the risk of using confidential data and ascertain ways to utilize this data throughout the project duration.
- Formulate a current and future state for the data architecture.

- Collaborate with the project manager and business stakeholders to define upstream data requirements.
- Contribute to estimating work input and time needed for data engineering development tasks,
- Contribute to client demonstrations of solution or presentations on architecture.
- Proactively communicate potential risks and issues to the internal project manager.
- Collaborate with data scientists or analysts to proactively address data concerns.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferable.
Job Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is obligatory.
- 4-6 years of Data Engineering experience is required.
- Extensive experience in Data Engineering – consuming, wrangling, validating, and developing pipelines for data.
- Profound knowledge of databases, ETL concepts, SQL, and NoSQL sources.
- Experience in Python (data packages such as Pandas, PySpark, SQL Alchemy, pydantic, etc.) and SQL.
- Position Type: 1099 Contractor
- The candidate must be willing to travel to Fort Lauderdale, FL 4-6 days a month.
