Are you a TS/SCI cleared Senior Data Scientist with a passion for cutting-edge data analytics? Join us at Leidos to support a major program advancing the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics and predictive analytics. You will be delivering advanced data science capabilities to push forward national security objectives, swiftly produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to presentations with actionable intelligence insights.

The successful candidate will work on projects to design, develop, and deploy data science and machine learning capabilities and products. Our team supports both research and development projects as well as mission-critical applications. The work includes applying machine learning libraries such as SciKit Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch to develop and train ML models.

While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. The percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements and deliverable priorities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist at Leidos, you will:

• Collaborate with a tight-knit team of data scientists, software developers, network engineers, senior investigators, program managers, researchers, and data analysts.
• Design, build, and optimize a Data Science platform to produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to publications and presentations.
• Work on small projects analyzing a variety of big data covering national security, cyber security, business intelligence, online social media, human behavior, and more.
• Support multiple simultaneous projects and independently or collaboratively make discoveries that are mission-relevant.
• Present findings to a non-technical audience.
• Leverage a strong background in research design, exploratory analysis, quantitative methods, and user interface application design.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you need the following qualifications:

• B.S. Degree and 12-15 years of prior experience or Masters with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience in a quantitative or analytical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or Computational Social Science; or equivalent graduate degree including certificate-based advanced training courses.
• 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative intelligence analysis, demonstrating progressive technical development and outcomes.
• TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as R or Python.
• Experience working with a hybrid team of analysts, engineers, and developers to conduct research, build, and deploy complex algorithms and analytical platforms.
• Track record of active learning and creative problem-solving.
• Ability to analyze and assess software development or data acquisition requirements to determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

We will be impressed if you have:

• Experience supporting military or intelligence community customers.
• Experience with at least two of the following data classes: open source, publicly available information (PAI), forensic media (DOMEX), MASINT, or cybersecurity and cyber forensics.
• Experience with knowledge graphs and related technology such as neo4j.
• Experience with databases like SQL, NoSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience blending analytical methodologies and using COTS/GOTS/FOSS tools.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using git, dvc, mlflow, and other version control technologies.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS/C2S).
• Familiarity with optimizing ML software for GPUs.
• Experience creating dashboards and prototype web applications using technologies such as Kibana, Apache Superset, Streamlit, Gradio, and Plotly Dash.
• Experience writing REST and gRPC APIs using technologies such as FastAPI and Flask.
